Photo Fun!

Well, this morning a knock came at my room's door at around 8:00 am, seriously haven't these people heard of 'sleeping in'? My room-mate Grace answered the door and squealed,  it was her new laptop. LSA distributes one to every student in the school, infact I'm typing on mine now! But Grace hadn't received hers yet as she only started school here half way through last year. So, you have a freshly opened computer, and a free day on your hands, what do you do? Invite your friends over and take pictures of course!

Lucy and Chloe are with their families this holidays, and Hannah has been at an art camp yesterday and today, so it was just me, Belle, Grace, and the computer we named Cally using a handy app we found called 'PhotoBooth'.

Belle's photos are so funny, i love the one where she has big cheeks!

Hahaha, look at me! I'm so weird.

And in these pictures Grace has; a miniature head, a stretched face, a twirly arm and body, and a twin!

And a few of us all together! My favourite is the one where Belle has a tiny head, and Grace and I look like giants. Whats yours? it was a great day, and Grace is very excited about her shiny new computer.

Until next time,

Emma xx

Happy New Year!

Twas the 1st of January, and all through the school. Not a sole was awake, except for some fools. For they had all stayed up so very late, to welcome with joy, this one special date.

Hahaha, like my poem?

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you had a great 2012 and are looking forward to this year as much as I am. This morning at around 9:00 I woke up to the loudest snoring. It was the first day of January, what was my roommate Grace still doing asleep?

"Grace, Grace! Wake-up, it's 2013!"

"What, Emma! I know, it's so early!"

Well I guess it's not my fault Grace was still tired. Yesterday Morning my 2013 school diary arrived. That was when it sank in that it wasn't going to be 2012 much longer. And now here we are, the 1st of January. Do you have a 2013 planner yet?

So as we do every morning, Grace and I sat at the foot of our beds and chatted. Today we got onto the topic of new year resolutions. "What's yours?" asked Grace. " I want to spend more time working on my blog and writing, as well as my photography, so my friends, readers, and family can have more of an update about my life, more regularly. " Grace nodded, "What about you?." She was silent for a minute and scratched Coconut's head, "Uh, probably becoming more familiar with the school, and getting to now the teachers and other kids better."

By the way, I don't know if you have formally met Grace yet. She recently moved to LSA from New York City, so her and Hannah have been talking about American Girl dolls so much. Grace has a collection but didn't bring them because she though they wouldn't be popular here.

Grace is very interested in the outdoors and nature. She also absolutely loves science, that's what her scholarship to LSA was for. Wildlife research. Grace says it's lovely being here in Australia, constantly surrounded by trees and nature. Apparently she had to travel to Central Park almost every weekend to carry out her research in New York. How annoying would that be?, not being able to do something you love regularly?

Tell me in the comments. What's your new years resolution?
Well bye for now, see you soon!

Back to school

Hey everyone!

As you probably know, all good things must come to an end, and that was the case at the beginning of this term! I had just arrived back from a holiday in Hobart, Tasmania when ‘bam’ I was thrust back into another month or two of school. Oh well, at least my birthday is soon, the 11th of June, only 36 sleeps! My friend Chloe just said that that is a long time but I don’t really think it is, those days will be gone really quickly as term two is proving to be quite eventful! My Principal pulled me (not literally) into his office after I got back from Hobart and said that I will be getting a new room-mate, her name is Grace and apparently her plane lands tomorrow morning so in a while I can tell you all about her.

Also this term, my friend Belle moved to her own private dorm, so I am helping her decorate! I also already have 3 projects to finish and it’s only the third week back, so I will be very busy what with homework, showing Grace around, helping Belle place furniture, and of course, blogging!

Just recently my best friend Hannah and I started taking cooking classes after school, last week we made apple and pecan coffee scrolls which are so yum! Tomorrow our teacher, Miss. Cole, will teach us how to bake citrus fruit flan, which sounds good! The students are aloud to put in requests for what they want to learn to make, any ideas?

Emma,

Happy Easter

Happy Easter my friends! This year, over Easter break, my friend Hannah invited all of my friends to stay at her house in Hobart! Because we would be so busy over there we decided to have an easter egg hunt a few weeks early. Here are some fun photos we took, enjoy!

Group photo first, of course!

Hannah's found one!

And Belle as well!

But the one I found was a bit high...

"come here little egg,"

"Got you!"

This one was an egg plant!

The last egg,

Hope you all have a great holiday and once again happy Easter!

Meet my friends,

Hi guys!
I thought it was about time you met some of my friends so, here they are!

My best friend's name is Hannah Clare Brooks, she enjoys arts and cheerleading!  Hannah has lived in Hobart down in Tasmania for most of her life, she went to the local school were she was bullied badly, luckily the mayor noticed her knack for drawing when she entered a arts competition at the local community centre, she told her sister (who happend to be the principal of LSA) who offered her a place at Lillydale Selective Arts.

Then there is Chloe Liz Albright, Chloe's a bit shy but comes out of her shell during gymnastics! She has twirled split and jumped her way to three gold medals! Chloe's older sister was also a student and Lillydale Selective Arts so she had a goal to achieve to be as good as her sister when she tried out for a place.

Abbey Elizabeth James is a very quirky person, she is known around the school for her out-going fashion sense and bright mood! Abbey is great at everything musical, she sings, writes her own songs and plays various instruments. Abbey lives in a big house to match her big family in New Zealand but when she was offered a place at Lillydale Selective Arts in Sydney, Australia is hard to turn down an offer that good.

I share a dorm room with Isabella Rose Thompson, but be warned, if she catches you calling her that you better watch out, everyone just calls her Belle. Belle is an amazing dancer and earned a scholarship to Lillydale for her ballet. Belle was originally born in Sydney but moved to England with her little brother and dad as he was studying Greenwich mean-time for one of his science endeavours.

Till next time,
Emma xoxoxo

Happy Valentines Day!

Hey everyone!
happy valentines day, yesterday my friends and I decided to be festive and make valentines and bake cookies,

Belle and Hannah started on the valentines,

whilst Chloe and I shaped the cookie dough into love hearts.

Hannah started to cut up some doilies

and got a bit carried away with the stickers!

everything was coming together, we had the cookies

and some pretty valentines made by Belle and Hannah,

but it was my idea to hang them on the wall

Welcome

Hi, Welcome to my Blog!! My name is Emma Tegan Phelps and this is my page!

I saw these questions on another blog and thought I would have a crack at them myself.

1. What is your name? Were you named after someone else? Do you like your name?
Well, as I said before my name is Emma Tegan Phelps, and as far as I know that is my name because my parents like that name, and quite frankly I do too.

2. Do you have any pets? If yes, what kind and what are their names? If not, why don't you have any pets?
I have one dog named Coconut, I got him when I was little and my Mum and Dad took me to the pound to get him on my birthday. I have a feeling Coconut is a Maltese Cross, but I'm not too sure.

3. Do you like to cook? What's your favorite food? Are you good at cooking?
I like to cook, not that I can. There should probably be a law against me going within 20ft of an oven. My favourite food would have to be jelly though.

4. Where do you live? Have you ever lived in another country from where you do currently?
Right now I live in Sydney, Australia.  I go to boarding school there, whilst the rest of my family are living in Utah, America. I used to live in Utah until a couple of years ago when I got accepted into LSA (Lillydale Selective Art School) for creative writing.

5. What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I either go along to my friends' extra classes (so I go to extra writing classes because I got into LSA for writing, which means my friends would go to dance or art) and take photos - photography is kinda my hobby- or sit out in the sunshine and write.

6. Do you like sports? What are your favourite sports?
I love basketball it is my favourite sport, but I also like swimming and diving.

7. How many languages do you speak? What are they?
I speak English fluently, but I have to study two languages for school, they are Japanese and French so I can speak a little of those.

8. Who do you live with?
I share a dorm room with my friend Grace, but I used to live with my Mum, Dad, three brothers and a sister in Utah.

9. What are five interesting things about you?
1. I am a vegetarian
2. My favourite colours are blue and lime green
3. Surprisingly I don't want to be an author when I grow up
4. My birthday is the 11th of June
5. When I was little I wanted to be a competitive diver, although I still do diving that isn't my goal anymore

Till next time,
Cya!
